Triathlon: 550 yd swim, 15 mi bike, 3.1 mi run
Duathlon: 2 mi run, 15 mi bike, 3.1 mi run
Collegiate Nationals (April 18): Lubbock, TX
Nationals (selected members only): 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
Sprint (open to all collegiate athletes): 500 m swim, 17.6 mi bike, 5 km run
Memphis in May (7am May 17): Memphis, TN
1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10k run

The race in Nashville was definitely an incredible race to be remembered! The day began overcast, windy and humid. There were predicted 30-45 mph wind gusts and 3-4 foot swells in the water with a current. The swim was deemed unsafe and voluntary. The collegiate wave was the first to be sent out. Three-fourths of the way out to the farthest booie, the wind snapped the cords off, and the booie flew across the lake, sending our wave into a frenzy of u-turns, all the while getting tossed by the water (understatement of the year). I am assuming that as a result of our waves’ unsuccessful swim they canceled it completely because as we pulled out of the water everyone was still on the beach staring at us. They had decided to make the race a duathlon with a time trial start for the bike. To make a long story short, we all finished the race in good form and represented UGA very well. You can find the race results here or below I have listed our placing within the collegiate division.

Note about team races: The SECTC races featured on the team race calendar are the focus of the team’s training, with Nationals in the Spring being the primary goal. Officers will be participating in these races (and thus there to support you) and the accommodation costs will be covered for Racing team members. If you’d like to organize a group to race in events to supplement the SECTC calendar feel free to do so; we will assist you in any way we can.
